XR Bootcamp organized SensAI Hacks across 3 cities, bringing together 353 hackers from 33 countries and 5 continents. Teams built unique hand tracking and immersive experiences using the latest Meta XR SDK tools, contextual AI, and robotics. Contextual AI projects rose from 10% in 2024 to 43% in 2025. Workshops engaged 1,000+ participants over 15 hours, with 59% being new to XR development.
SensAI Hack around the world:

In just 48 hours, 80 XR AI projects were built for Meta Quest. Tracks included Horizon Worlds, contextual AI with Meta's Camera Access, Virtual and Mixed Reality. 26% of participants were new to Meta XR development — many preparing through our Udemy XR course, which has 6,400+ completions, a 4.5 rating, and 500k+ lifetime installs.
We hosted 15 hours of workshops and curated a playlist of tutorials for all skill levels, covering:

To help hackers accelerate development, we created a curated collection of open-source AI kits fully integrated with Meta XR SDK and Unity:

SensAI Hack has become a launchpad for the next generation of XR creators. Running a global hackathon takes more than a great idea - it takes partners who believe in the mission.

Rayyan Zahid's workshop changed the trajectory of winning teams
Rayyan Zahid, Immersive Systems Wizard at Sandbox VR, didn't just sponsor and judge at SensAI Hack San Francisco — he delivered a hands-on workshop on using Google and Gemini to write C# scripts for Unity.
The impact? Multiple winning teams said the workshop "changed the trajectory of their project and became a great equalizing force against more experienced teams."
From cancer education to food health monitoring - mentors were blown away
Deepak Nair from Meta mentored the finalists for the Horizon Worlds and VR/AI tracks.
"Seeing everything from teaching cancer patients about cell growth to monitoring health by analyzing what you eat. The way people are willing to explore tech and new ideas is inspiring to watch."

From SensAI Hack Barcelona straight to Unite
Richard Guignon, XR Product Designer at Photon Engine, wrapped up three intense days at SensAI Hack Barcelona and headed straight to Unite.
"It's always impressive to see what teams manage to build in such a short time. These events are a great opportunity to meet passionate people, exchange perspectives, and of course… test lots of new gear.”
Check out all the inspiring projects built at the hackathon (look at all winning projects here), exploring everything from contextual AI to robotic arms. Here are a few standout projects we’d like to spotlight:

Language learning with Gaussian splats for object detection

Real-time MR guidance with AI support for quick car repairs

Sketch 3D objects in MR space, print directly

Real-time spatial XR guidance and training for new waiters

MR latte art training using precise hand tracking

MR real-time emotion recognition for neurodiverse users

Katana gameplay with real-time OpenCV object tracking

MR food recognition for real-time diet tracking

Real-time context-aware communication for AAC users in XR

Real-world self-expression via real-time pose detection on Quest

Anchors useful info, stories, voices to any detected object

Scans and generates 3D objects for virtual rage room
VisuLingo tackles the "empty world" problem in world models by implementing object detection on virtual environments - turning any world model into an interactive, immersive language learning experience in XR.

FixItXR turns car repair into an interactive XR experience: it detects engine components in real-time, segments them, and overlays step-by-step repair instructions directly onto your engine bay using Meta Quest 3.
Hackers used a LeRobot arm to build a system that detects and interacts with the real world — and yes, it can even be programmed to poke your friends.
